If you are a current user of his older Azure AD Connect for JSM app, you can install the new Entra ID Connect for JSM app; however, you will need to create a separate Assets Schema for this new app. There is no direct upgrade path, but you can run both apps side-by-side

The Azure Active Directory, now known as Entra, Connect application is a powerful integration tool designed to connect Microsoft Azure AD/Entra and Jira Service Management CMDB (Configuration Management Database) seamlessly. Its primary purpose is to enable the import of user data from Azure AD into the Jira Service Management CMDB for use within JSM.

The app offers a user-friendly interface that simplifies the integration process, allowing users to establish a secure connection between Azure AD/Entra and Jira Service Management with ease. Once connected, the app provides a range of features and functionalities between the two platforms.

Prerequisites for Azure AD (Entra) Connect

Here are the prerequisites steps that need to be completed before configuring the Azure AD (Entra) Connect app:

To complete Steps 1 & 2 above, you will need have a Jira Service Management role of either Assets Administrator or Assets Manager.  

To complete Step 3 above, you will need to have either Application Administrator or Application Developer role in your Azure Active Directory. Additionally, either a Global Administrator or a Privileged Role Administrator will be required.  

Configuring the Azure AD (Entra) Connect App

After you have installed the Azure AD (Entra) Connect App into your Jira Service Management project, and completed the Prerequisite steps, you will need to configure  it for correct operation. This configuration involves the following 5 steps:

No. The synced attributes from Microsoft Intune are fixed. However, we are working on enhancing the app to give you better control of which attributes you want to import.
